Once again life got in the way this year, as this is the first Sprocket for 2008 and it is already late July a lot has happened since the last issue.

The Darryl Bezuidenhout Tower has been spruced up for the coming National in August, the roof has been fixed, the floors replaced with steel and sealed, a Jury and Medical room has also been added on the ground level. Power has also been laid on with plugs and lighting.

Our track has been sorted out more or less for the National and the sprinkler system has been installed, this alone has benefited us by not having to spend as much as the past in wetting the track for an event. At the same time the wash bays were upgraded with thicker feed pipes to ensure a better flow of water during events.

The booster pump has been moved to enable us to pressurize the whole water supply system, giving us a constant pressure even up at the Container venue. The top half of the MX pits now also have good water pressure as a result and should be able to establish their patches of lawn from now on.

We of course would appreciate any input from members as well so let me know and I will have it published on the next edition of The Sprocket. Hopefully late August after the nationals.

The editor also wishes to inform all and sundry that he will not be available for any events from 15 September to 15 October... he wil be visiting the land of the Tango, Pampas and Espedada over this period. Don't cry for mr Argentina!

If you are wondering why nothing is happening at the Flat Track... bear with us as negotiations and planning is being done for this to become an attraction on it's own. At this stage nothing has been finalised but it seems that Leroy Brown is intrested in developing a bush bup idea and flat track faciliteis for his own account but with benefit to BORC members as a whole. More later when the deal is finalised.
Untill this is in place it is not worth spending money in upkeep, be patient and you will be rewarded.
