From the editors keyboard.

Our newsletter has been in 2 year hiatus due to several factors, one being the horrendous workload I as editor have been having at work as well as some pressing personal matters. However a lot has been sorted out and I am spending more time at home these days. Hopefully we can get back to putting at least one Sprocket out each quarter.
We of course would appreciate any input from members as well so let me know and I will have it published on the next edition of The Sprocket.
Now for some ranting from the Editor:
Something that I as organiser and official find irksome is how often we get asked to get an event organised and after much fanfare we have only a handfull of competitors pitch. Riders seem to think that organising a Flat Track race is cheap in both time and cost. Well folks it is not, our last race was not a great success and I for one have doubts that there will be any more this year. Having 20 odd people enter with Medics, Officials and other expenses to pay out of such a small turnout is just not cost effective. Half the people asking for a race never pitch? My suggestion is that all those that want to race get together, set a date, pay an organising fee and then we get the show on the road... comments to the Editor per e-mail welcome.

News

We ask all members that may use the tracks to please to have their 2007 Membership cards at hand when asked by Hendrik our new groundsman. He has been instructed not to let anyone in that does not pay.
The groundsman is there to see that fees are collected from non members as well as to keep an eye on the premised and do necessary upkeep of the toilets and other facilities.
